Senator GRIMES (NEW SOUTH WALES) -I ask the Minister representing the Minister for the Northern Territory: Is he aware that one of the conditions of employment of public servants in the Northern Territory who are recruited from the rest of the continent is that they shall be entitled every 2 years to the return air fare to any capital city in Australia except Hobart? Will the Minister make inquiries into the reason for this discrimination against Tasmanians with the hope of having such discrimination removed?

Senator WRIEDT - I am not aware that such a situation exists. I must say that I am astonished to learn that that privilege is not extended to include Hobart. I shall refer the matter to the Minister for the Northern Territory and request him to give it his immediate attention.
