Senator Mulvihill asked the Minister representing the Prime Minister, upon notice:

(   1 ) What special activities and background brought about the appointment of Ms Shirley Castley, Ms Irene Greenwood, Ms Ruby Hammond, Ms Jeanette Hungerford, Ms Maria Pozos, Ms Ruth Ross and Ms Diana Waite to the Australian National Advisory Committee for International Women 's Year.

(2)   Do any of the persons referred to in ( 1) have any specific experience with female trade unionists or ethnic groups.

(3)   What is (a) the term of each appointment and (b) the remuneration involved.


Senator Murphy - The Prime Minister has supplied the following information for answer to the honourable senator's question:

(   1 ) Understanding of life pattern of women in our society.

(2)   Yes.

(3)   (a) Until 31 March 1976.
