The PRESIDENT -Is leave granted? There being no objection, leave is granted.


Senator Douglas McClelland (NEW SOUTH WALES) (Minister for the Media) -Before moving the motion, let me say that I have had discussions on this matter with the Leader of the Opposition in the Senate (Senator Withers) and the Leader of the Australian Country Party in the Senate (Senate Drake-Brockman). I move:

(1   ) That, unless otherwise ordered, the times of meeting for the Senate for this week be as follows:

Tuesday- 1 1 a.m. to 1 p.m., 2.15 p.m. to 6 p.m., 8 p.m. to 1 1 p.m.;

Wednesday- 10.30 a.m. to1 p.m., 2.15 p.m. to 6 p.m., 8 p.m. to 1 1 p.m.;

Thursday- 10.30 a.m. to 1 p.m.. 2.15 p.m. to 6 p.m., 8 p.m. to 1 1 p.m.:

Friday-10.30 a.m. to 1 p.m., and 2. 15 p.m. to 5 p.m.

(2)   That the sessional order relating to the adjournment of the Senate have effect at the terminating time each day.
