Senator BONNER (QUEENSLAND) - I direct a question to the Leader of the Government in the Senate. When the Government's Seas and Submerged Lands Bill becomes law and the Government will have the responsibility of the seas from the low water mark, what steps does it intend to take to police the coast of Australia, as the States are doing this work now?

Senator MURPHY -The Government would make all necessary arrangements for the policing of the lands and waters under its control. I imagine that under the Bill and other legislation arrangements would be made for the States. Everyone would expect that the areas which need to be supervised would be supervised, and that will be done.
