Senator KEEFFE (QUEENSLAND) - I support the remarks made by the Leader of the Opposition (Senator Murphy) and Senator Bishop, lt is a tragedy for Australia to have had the circus we have seen put on by the Government here tonight, lt is a tragedy for Australia that the Minister who purports to be the Attorney-General descends to schoolboy tactics in order to get his own way. The fact that tonight he .moved a motion which is an attempt to bludgeon through this chamber a very important Bil! dealing with the livelihood of hundreds of thousands of people in this country is an indictment in itself, lt is true that the Leader of the Opposition today entered into an agreement with the Minister for Air (Senator Drake-Brockman), representing the Government, in relation to certain extensions of sittings. But we were not told at that time - and 1 submit that this was a confidence trick - that the guillotine would be applied rigidly throughout the whole of this debate. It is unfair to cut down debating time on a major Bill of this nature. The fact that the Attorney-General (Senator Greenwood) rose here tonight and said we had spent so many hours discussing this Bill is so much eye wash and poppycock. He knows it is not true and every honest honourable senator on the Government side knows it is not true.

The CHAIRMAN (Senator Prowse*Order! Senator, you must not pursue that line of allegation against the Minister.
