Senator PROWSE (WESTERN AUSTRALIA) I direct my question to the Minister representing the Prime Minister. Is the Government aware of the possibility of loss of benefit to the Australian economy by the proposed takeover of Travelodge Australia Ltd by a Hong Kong based land development group, with United Kingdom and American backing, which includes shipping interests? Is the Australian interest in this matter to be supported by any Government action?

Senator DRAKE-BROCKMAN (Western Australia) (Minister for Air) I feel sure that the Government is well aware of the points raised by the honourable senator but so that he may have more detailed information I will seek a reply from the Prime Minister and give it to him as soon as possible.
