Senator McLAREN - I ask the Minister representing the Minister for Labour and National Service whether Aborigines are required to have a work history before being eligible to register for unemployment benefits? If so, does not this requirement discriminate against Aborigines living in remote areas of Australia where little or no work is available? Who determines a person's work history and what standards are applied in reaching a decision on the matter?

Senator WRIGHT - The term 'work history' requires a little definition. I had better ask the officials of the Department to give a precise answer.
