Senator MCCLELLAND (NEW SOUTH WALES) - My question is directed to the Leader of the Government in the Senate. Is the Minister aware that the Commonwealth Government has spent over £2 million on the installation of a computer system at the Government Printing Office in Canberra, with unitsestablished in each of the State capital cities, to expedite the book work of the Department of Health, the Taxation Branch and the Bureau of Census and Statistics? Is it also a fact that after the units were installed in the State capitals it was found that either because of faulty installation or technical defects they were unable to communicate with the central unit in Canberra and that to rectify the fault the sum of £600,000 was involved? As a large amount of taxpayers' money is involved in this expenditure, will the Government call for a complete investigation into the matter and make a report to Parliament?
