Senator WEDGWOOD (VICTORIA) asked the Minister representing the Minister for Labour and National Service, upon notice -

1.   Has the attention of the Minister been directed to a statement by Sir John Allison, Chairman of the National Rehabilitation Conference now being held in Melbourne, that employers should be compelled to engage a quota of disabled persons?

2.   Is the Commonwealth Government giving a lead in the employment of the physically handicapped and will the Minister inform the Senate of the number and conditions of employment of disabled persons in the Commonwealth Public Service?
