Senator TANGNEY (WESTERN AUSTRALIA) - My question is directed to the Minister representing the Minister for Labour and National Service. On 24th March I asked the Minister a question relating to newspaper allegations of immorality in Canberra hostels. To my question I have received in reply a letter from the Minister which gives the lie direct to the slanders. I thank the Minister for his courtesy to me, but I now wish to ask him: Since these slanderous attacks appeared with great prominence in newspapers in every State of the Commonwealth and no refutation has been made by a responsible person through the same medium and to the same extent, will- the Minister make a public statement on lines similar to those in his letter to me so that the good name of our young workers in Canberra will be reestablished in the public image and the parents of girls from distant States fully re-assured as to their welfare?
