Senator WEDGWOOD (VICTORIA) asked the Minis ter representing the Minister for Primary Industry, upon notice -

1.   Has the attention of the Minister been directed to a report by the Commonwealth Bureau of Census and Statistics that the value of wool exported to Great Britain had fallen from £13.1 million in the September quarter of last year to £9 million in the September quarter of this year?

2.   Is this fall due to a lower price for wool or to a significant drop in the quantity of wool purchased by Great Britain?

3.   If the latter is the case, what action can be taken to arrest this serious decline?
