Senator MARRIOTT (TASMANIA) - I wish to ask several questions of the Minister for Civil Aviation. Is it a fact that Trans-Australia Airlines is to construct an aerodrome on Brampton Island off the Queensland coast and use Beechcraft aircraft to carry passengers to and from Mackay? Has it not previously been the responsibility of the Department of Civil Aviation, State Governments or local government bodies to construct airports for civil airlines? Why has permission been given to T.A.A. to go into the airport construction business? What is the estimated cost of the proposed airport? From where or from whom is T.A.A. obtaining the finance? Will aircraft other than those owned by T.A.A. have access to the airport?
