Senator BROWN (QUEENSLAND) - I wish to ask the Minister for Defence the following pertinent questions - 1. Is it the general consensus of opinion in Australia that our defences arc deplorably weak? 2. Should the full truth of this weakness be told? 3. Did not the Government, a year or two ago, appoint Lieutenant-General Sir Leslie Morshead as chairman of a special committee to review the organisation of the defence group of departments? 4. Was a report received?

5.   If so, what was the nature of the report?

6.   Was the report ever made public? 7. Did the Government act on the report?
