Senator COHEN (VICTORIA) - I direct a question to the Leader of the Government in the Senate. On Thursday last I asked the Leader of the Government whether the Australian Government had made any approaches to the Government of China in respect of the recent nuclear explosion there and whether any representations had been made urging the Chinese Government to sign the nuclear test ban treaty. The Leader of the Government undertook to confer with the Acting Minister for External Affairs and obtain a reply for me. I ask whether either the Leader of the Government in the Senate or the Acting Minister for External Affairs is in a position to answer the question.
