Senator TOOHEY (SOUTH AUSTRALIA) asked the Minister rep resenting the Minister for Primary Industry, upon notice -

1.   Mas the Minister's attention been directed to the statement made by Mr. C. Ito, leader of a group of Japanese pastrycooks and bakers now visiting Australia, as reported in the "Adelaide Advertiser " of 29th September, that the Japanese food trade would be happy to buy large quantities of sultanas from Australia if the fruit was entirely free of grit and darker in colour?

2.   Did the visitors suggest at a conference at Renmark that the Australian Dried Fruits Control Board should appoint a representative to examine conditions in Japan?

3.   Has the Minister discussed, this suggestion with the Australian Dried Fruits Control Board? If not, will he consider doing so?
