Senator BISHOP (through Senator Drury) asked the Minister representing the Minister for Shipping and Transport, upon notice -

1.   Relative to the grant of £35,000 for survey work in connection with a plan for a railway betweenWhyalla and Port Augusta, is it expected that a report will be tendered to the Commonwealth Government on the completion of the survey work?

2.   Has the Government determined whether any other advances might be made to construct such a railway link between Whyalla and the Commonwealth Railways system at Port Augusta?
