Senator COLLINGS - The Minister for Home Security has supplied the following answers: -

1.   Yes. 2 and 3. The Air Raid Shelters Order No. 10, made under the provisions of the Enemy Raids Protection Ordinance 1942, does not compel owners to provide air raid shelters within the premises. Such shelters may be in or adjacent to the building, and may take the form of trenches, if approved. . Applications from the owners concerned are receiving urgent consideration with the object of such work being put in hand immediately as is approved.
