Senator KEANE (Victoria) (Minister for Trade and Customs) .- -At present it would be possible for a widow to receive a pension under this scheme and one from a State government. That matter is now being discussed with the New South Wales Government with a view to eliminating the difficulty foreseen by the honorable senator. The Commonwealth would find it very difficult to legislate for the abolition of State widows' pension schemes. At present the only scheme which might cause embarrassment to the Commonwealth is that operating in New South Wales.
