Senator FRASER - The Minister for the Army has supplied the following answers : -

1.   No. A uniform ration must be issued to all military personnel throughout the Commonwealth. All commanding officers have at their disposal an amount of lid. per man per day to expend, at their discretion, on additional ration commodities. There is no objection to Tasmanian units, if they desire, spending the whole of this amount on the purchase of apples.

2.   Not to my knowledge.
