Senator SAMPSON (TASMANIA) asked the Minister representing the Minister for the Army, upon notice -

1.   Will the Minister take action immediately to ensure that the large surplus of Tasmanian apples existing at the present time is made available, to the troops in camps in that State as an addition to their ration scale?

2.   Is it a fact that large quantities of fruit are being allowed to rot in close proximity to military camps?

3.   If so, will the Minister for the Army collaborate with the Minister for Commerce to overcome this waste?
