Senator McLEAY (SOUTH AUSTRALIA) - Will the Leader of the Senate state whether it is a fact that the Government has, during the last few months, promulgated three different sets of regulations having as their object a continuous production of coal? In view of the fact that yesterday eight coal-mines in New South Wales were reported to be idle, can the Minister say what action has been taken by the Government to implement any of those regulations, and when the people of Australia may expect direct and effective action by the Government in place of the present vacillating and procrastinating attitude displayed towards this vital industry?
