Senator FRASER - The Minister for the Army has supplied the following answers : -

1.   and 2. This information is not available in Australia.

3.   In the absence of records of No. 8 Special Hospital, no detailed comparison can be made, but it is known that the incidence is far less than was the case in the war of 1914-18, and the percentage of cures compare more than favorably with those of the last war.

4.   Elaborate precautions are taken by the Army to safeguard the troops by means of lectures by medical officers, the provision of centres and special hospitals for treatment.
