Senator HERBERT HAYS (TASMANIA) asked the Minister assisting the Minister for Commerce, upon notice -

1.   What are the terms and conditions under which the Government has undertaken to purchase 6,000 tons of the blue pea crop of the 1942-43 harvest in Tasmania?

2.   Does the Government undertake to purchase the balance produced (if any) over and above the 6,000 tons now arranged for; if so, at what price and under what conditions?

3.   Has the Government made any arrangement or agreement for the production of peas in other States; if so, what are the terms and conditions under which these arrangements have been made?

Senator FRASER - The Minister for Commerce has supplied the following answer : - 1, 2 and 3. Other departments than the Department of Commerce are concerned in this matter, and the Information desired is being obtained.
