Senator LECKIE (Victoria) .- The Minister will see the inequity of this provision; there is no certainty that the States will fall into line. Indeed, the chances are that they will not contribute anything, in which event the companies concerned will be placed in an impossible position. Some Queensland companies will have to call on capital in order to pay the taxes on their own income. Surely that is a position which is not contemplated. We should provide that in no case shall the combined tax exceed 18s. in the £1.
