Senator McLEAY (South AustraliaLeader of the Opposition) . - As these nine bills are complementary to the Sales Tax (Exemptions and Classification) Bill which the Senate has just passed, I do not propose to delay their passage.

Question resolved in the affirmative.

Senator JAMES McLACHLAN (SOUTH AUSTRALIA) - On a point of order, is it permissible to proceed with these nine bills when the Sales Tax (Exemptions and Classifications) Bill has not yet been passed by the Parliament? I remind the Senate that that bill has still to go to the House of Representatives for consideration of the amendment made in it by the Senate.
