Senator KEANE (Victoria) . - I second the motion. In doing so, I wish, briefly, to supplement the statement i made when speaking to the motion of privilege dealt with this morning, that such newspaper reports should have been censored. That statement evoked a tirade of opposition from honorable senators opposite. My contention is supported by the fact that pressmen's reports of speeches by two honorable members in the House of Representatives last evening in criticism of the Government were censored. If censorship of criticism of the Government by two members of the House of Representatives is justified, my contention that newspaper criticism of the Senate of the kind now under consideration should be censored is not unsound.
