Senator McLEAY (South Australia) (Minister for Supplyand. Development) . - I congratulate you, Mr. President, upon your luck, and I wish you every success in your high office. I very much regret that Senator Wilson was unable to attend the meeting of the Senate to-day by virtue of the fact that he is fighting with the Australian Imperial Force abroad, and that Senator Allan MacDonald was unable to attend as the result of his having been taken away to hospital by ambulance to-day. I can assure you, Mr. President, that honorable senators on this side of the chamber will do all they can to assist you to maintain order in the Senate so that the cooperation and harmony that have marked the proceedings in this Senate over a long period will continue.
