Senator COLLINGS (QueenslandLeader of the Opposition) . - This is a simple measure, and it scarcely calls for comment. The proposal is to omit from section 29b of the Crimes Act 1914-1937 which relates to false representation, the words "either verbally or in writing" and to insert in their stead the words " in any manner whatsoever ". In times like these such a provision is exceedingly wise and necessary.

Question resolved in the affirmative.

Bill read a second time, and passed through its remaining stages without amendment or debate.
