Senator BROWN (Queensland) . -The Opposition is pleased that, at last, justice is being done to pensioners. I do not know whether the proposal to increase the pension to £1 a week is to be regarded as a death bed repentance on the part of the Government for the wrong which it has done to pensioners since it assumed office, or whether it is intended as political bait for the coming elections ; but I have no doubt at all that pensioners will be delighted to draw the extra ls. a week on next pension pay day.
