No senator shall interrupt another senator whilst speaking, unless ( 1 ) to request that his words be taken down; (2) to call attention to a point of order or privilege suddenly arising; or (3) to call attention to the want of a quorum.

Committee's recommendation -

Add " (See also Standing Order 420.) "

Motion (by Senator Sampson) agreed to-

That the amendment be agreed to

Standing Order : " Disagreement between the Houses " -

(a)   The members present at the joint sitting shall appoint by ballot a member to preside, and until such appointment the Clerk of the Parliaments shall act as chairman . . .

Committee's recommen dation -

Leave out " Parliaments ", insert" Senate ".
