The PRESIDENT - Order ! The latter part of the question is frivolous.

Senator Sir GEORGE PEARCE - In the first place, the question contains an inaccuracy. I made no attack on the press, but simply related facts. In the second place, I made no proposals either for a press censorship or for any of the other restrictions suggested by the honorable senator's question. I merely said that if the misrepresentation to which 1 took exception were continued, Parliament would have to take steps to protect itself against it. The whole of the honor able senator's question is founded on his lively and somewhat wicked imagination.
