Senator DUNCAN-HUGHES (South Australia) . - The Leader of the Opposition (Senator Collings) has misunderstood me. He seems to think that I am in agreement with him, whereasI am not. I said that it was a matter for gratification that, in respect of prunes there was a tendency towards a reduction, rather than an increase, of the bounty. I hope that, there is no intention to diminish bounties in order to force growers of prunes, or, indeed, any primary producers, into marketing schemes. I dislike the idea of a bounty being in any sense used as a lever to force people into Borne form of control which they do not desire.

Senator Collings - Would the honorable senator hand them the money and let them do what they like with it?
