Senator COOPER (QUEENSLAND) - I ask the Ministerincharge of Development -

1.   Has the Commonwealth Government any information concerning the development of mechanical cotton-pickers in other parts of the world?

2.   If so, will the Government make available . lull information on this subject? 3: In view of the outstanding importance of mechanical cotton-picking in connexion with the development of the cotton industry of Australia, will the Government provide financial assistance, if a satisfactory machine has been manufactured, to enable such a machine to be brought to Australia for demonstration purposes during the next cotton harvesting season?
