Senator HARDY asked the Leader of the Government in the Senate, upon notice -

1.   Has the attention of the Government been drawn to the statement that the flying licence and airworthiness certificate of Dr. Fenton, medical officer in the Northern Territory, have been cancelled?

2.   If so, will this prevent Dr. Fenton attending any emergency calls in his capacity as medical officer?

Senator Sir GEORGE PEARCE - The answers to the honorable senator's questions are as follows: -

1.   The Government is aware that Dr. Fenton's pilot's licence and the airworthiness certificate of his aircraft are at present invalid, because he has not taken the necessary steps to re-validate them.

2.   Until Dr. Fenton takes such action as will enable the civil aviation authorities to revalidate the documents abovementioned, any flights carried out by him will be in contravention of the air navigation regulations.
