Senator J B HAYES (TASMANIA) asked the Minister representing the Acting Minister for Commerce, upon notice -

1.   Is it a fact that cheese is being sent from the mainland and sold in Tasmania at 5½d. per lb.?

2.   If so, are the shippers of such cheese getting any monetary assistance from any fund of any sort on account of cheese so shipped?

3.   Are Tasmanian dairymen ableto send to and sell cheese in Victoria or other States?

4.   Will the Minister make a statement setting out the reasons for the existing position?
