Senator FOLL (Queensland) . - What action is the Government taking in connexion with the appointment of a trade representative in Egypt? When I visited Cairo some months ago I was informed that as a direct result of the Canadian Government sending a trade representative to Egypt the value of imports from Canada had increased from £80,000 to over £250,000 per annum. Having discussed the subject with many leading white residents in Cairo, I am fully con vinced that a good opportunity exists for Australia to increase its trade with Egypt. I understand that some action has been taken to secure representation there, and I shall be very glad if the Minister will tell us what has been done in this respect.
