Senator HERBERT HAYS (TASMANIA) asked the

Minister representing the Prime Minister, upon notice -

1.   Is it the intention of the Government to introduce a bill this session providing for national insurance?

2.   If so, will friendly societies' representatives be given an opportunity of considering the proposed legislation before it is dealt with by Parliament?


Senator Sir GEORGE PEARCE - The honorable senator's inquiry relates to a matter of Government policy and cannot be dealt with in reply to a question.
