Senator Sir GEORGE PEARCE (Western Australia) (Vice-President of the Executive Council) [3.32]. - Honorable senators are aware that on Wednesday afternoon next, if our hopies are fulfilled, Mr. Hinkler, the famous aviator, will arrive in Canberra. It is desired to accord him a fitting reception, and arrangements are being made for certain official functions is both the afternoon and evening of that day. Under those circumstances it will not be possible for the Senate to meet for the transaction of business next Wednesday. I, therefore, move -
