Senator GRAHAM (WESTERN AUSTRALIA) asked the Leader of the Government in the Senate, upon notice -

1.   With reference to the gold-mining industry, so far as Kalgoorlie and Gwalia are concerned, is the recommendation of the Development and Migration Commission, as contained on page 23 of their report, the full recommendation of the commission?

2.   If not, will the Minister supply the Senate with an exact copy of the commission's report on this matter?

3.   If not, why?


1.   to 3. The recommendations of the Development' and Migration Commission regarding the gold-mining industry as at present available are contained in the interim report of the commission on this subject which was tabled in the Senate yesterday. A further general report on the whole of the gold-mining industry of Australia is now in course of preparation by the commission and will be issued as soon as possible.
