Senator REID (QUEENSLAND) - Are the casks made of Australian timber?

Senator LYNCH - I imagine that they are. Some years ago, the Western Australian Director of Forests, in ,a report to his Government, stated that our despised bluegum timber which is burnt by the million feet every year, was recognized by French vignerons as equal to the best for casks for the holding of wine. Therefore, I must conclude that the casks are made by Australian workmen of Australian timber. Even the hoops, the nails, and the clouts, are Australian. Senator Barwell, not I, is ^ responsible, with others, for the present policy.

The PRESIDENT (Senator the Hon. Sir John Newlands). - The honorable senator has exhausted his time.
