Senator NEEDHAM (WESTERN AUSTRALIA) - In view of the statement of the Minister for Defence (Sir William Glasgow) yesterday, regarding the position of trainees who attended a parade in Perth on the occasion of the visit of the Duke and Duchess of York, I ask the Minister if he will instruct the base commandant to pay all trainees who attended that parade-, which was, according to the wording of the order, regarded by them as a compulsory one, although the Defence authorities said it was not, and refused to pay them?
