Senator NEEDHAM (Western Australia) .- The only objection I have to offer in this instance is to the short time in which we are allowed to consider the bill, which, I understand, will be of great assistance to settlers in combating pests.

Senator Pearce - If it is a good measure, why delay its passage?

Senator NEEDHAM - I do not wish to do that, and am only complaining because Ave have not been given sufficient lime to consider it. As the bill embodies a portion of the Government's policy, it should have been introduced months ago.
