Senator PEARCE - The answers to the honorable senator's questions are as follow : -

1.   The delegation is being selected as an industrial commission for the purpose of investigating the conditions under which American industry is conducted, and to ascertain how far these conditions are applicable to Australian conditions, and the extent to which they might tend to the promotion of greater harmony and efficiency in our industrial life. It would be impossible to obtain a representative with the necessary qualifications to investigate all the scientific and other aspects of primary production.

2.   Consideration was given to this question; but itwas felt that the specific purpose of the delegation would not be served by extending the tour to Great Britain.

3.   No decision as to the industries to be represented has yet been arrived at; but, from the names submitted, the most representative delegation possible will be appointed.
