Senator KINGSMILL (WESTERN AUSTRALIA) asked the Minister for Home and Territories, upon notice -

1.   Is it a fact, as stated in the Age newspaper of 5th July instant, that " the main entrance door of Parliament House (Canberra) is a fine piece of painted oregon " ?

2.   If so, why was not unpainted Australian timber used for the construction of the door in question ?

3.   What are the proportions of Australian and imported timbers, respectively, used in the construction of the above building?
