Senator CRAWFORD - The answers to the honorable senator's questions are as follows: -

1.   The particular duties on petrol, chassis, and tires, which are proposed to be imposed for revenue purposes, as part of the Governments financial proposals, were not specifically referred to the Tariff Board, but questions of duties on petrol (in cases), chassis, and tires have been referred to and dealt with by the Tariff Board.

2.   A copy of the Tariff Board's report on oil in small containers or cases, which refers to petrol, has been placed on the table of the library, and it is proposed to take similar action in regard to the board's report on chassis and tires.
