The CHAIRMAN - The honorable senator was speaking of the embargo on the export of gold.

Senator GRAHAM - Other honorable senators who preceded me also mentioned the gold-mining industry, which, as I have stated, is in a languishing condition in Western Australia. On this item I intend to take the same stand as I have with regard to other items in the schedule. I intend to support the Government.

Amendment (Senator Needham's) negatived.

Request agreed to.
