Senator E D MILLEN (NEW SOUTH WALES) (Minister for Repatriation) . - In connexion with this item, the Committee suggested the same duties that were proposed in connexion with newsprint, namely, free, £2, and £2 per ton respectively. The other Chamber having decided to adhere to the rates originally adopted on newsprint, I suggest that we accept the rates with the modification of another place, which makes the duties in this sub-item in. keeping with those in the previous one. I move -

That the modification be agreed to.

Vehicle parts, viz.: -

(d)   Parts of vehicles with self-contained power, propelled by petrol, steam, electricity, oil, or alcohol, n.e.i., whether incorporated in the complete vehicle or separate, viz.: -

And on and after 1st July, 1921 -

(4)   Chassis, but not including rubber tyres: -

(a)   Unassembled, ad val., British, 5 per cent.; intermediate, 7½ per cent.; general, 10 per cent.
