Senator RUSSELL (Victoria) (VicePresident of the Executive Council) , - I am willing to accept the principle of the amendment, and leave it to the draftsman, to say where it should be included. I consider that the record of a trifling offence should not be kept for a period of two years.

Senator Drake-Brockman - The Minister might agree to a maximum period of two years, and under the regulations in particular cases, the time fixed might be less.

Senator RUSSELL - I will accept the principle of the amendment, with a maximum period of twoyears.
