Senator THOMAS (NEW SOUTH WALES) - I ask the Min ister representing the Minister for Home and Territories -

1.   Is it a fact that the Federal Constitution only made provision for a Territory not less than 100 square miles being handed over by the New South Wales Government to the Federal Government for the punpose of building a Federal Capital?

2.   Is it a fact that the Federal Government asked for a much larger area of land before starting to build?

3.   Is it a fact that the New South Wales Government transferred an area of 928 square miles, or nine times more than the Federal Constitution provided for?

4.   What is the revenue that has been derived by the Federal Government from the land so acquired? 5.How much has been received in taxation by the' Federal Government from those who were,, and arc, resident in this area, which, but for the action of the New South Wales Government, would have been collected by New South Wales?
