Senator THOMAS (NEW SOUTH WALES) asked the Minister representing the Acting Prime Minister -

1.   Is it a fact that Judge Bevan, late of the Northern Territory, has been paid asum close on £3,000 as compensation?

2.   If so, what were the reasons that induced the Government to grant such compensation?
